This event combines two dynamic evaluations: a 50-70 MPH acceleration test and a 60-0 MPH stopping distance test. Although scored separately, the braking and acceleration tests are logistically combined into one event. The braking and acceleration event evaluates the vehicle’s ability to:
- Accelerate from 50 to 70 mph as quickly as possible.
- Come to a stop from a speed of 60 mph in a controlled manner within a distance that is as short as possible
